International Dialogue on Education

This workshop series is a joint initiative of the Group of Eight, the British Council, the German Academic Exchange Service, the Canadian Bureau for International Education in Berlin and the Free University in Berlin.

Through the contributions of international participants, the series aims to enrich debate on science, research and higher education policy in Germany, to place German perspectives in a global context and to learn from positive examples from other countries.

The conference is held in October each year in Berlin.

Previous events have considered: integrating lifelong learning into universities' missions; recruitment and selection of doctoral candidates; postdoctoral careers and interdisciplinary research.

The next event in the series will be held on 23 October 2012 and will focus on transnational education.
