Debate@Go8 Mini: Go8 Delegation to the United States – Professor Gordon Flake
Great conversation from The Group of Eight Delegation to the United States with Professor Gordon Flake, CEO of the Perth USAsia Centre at The University of Western Australia. Professor Flake is originally from the US, he spent 25 years in Washington and his work at the Perth USAsia Centre focuses on the Indo-Pacific, so Go8 CE Vicki Thomson was very keen to get his take on how research-intensive universities can navigate the challenging geopolitical and cultural environment in which they current find themselves – a recurring theme through many of the discussions during the delegation. Recorded September 2026.
