The Group of Eight (Go8) – Australia’s leading universities – unequivocally condemns the heinous terrorist attack at Bondi Beach, which struck peaceful families and community members gathering for a Hanukkah celebration.
We extend our deepest condolences to victims, their families, and the Jewish community, and we stand in solidarity with all affected.
This deliberate act of antisemitic violence is deeply disturbing and an affront to our values of diversity, inclusion, and respect. This attack on Jewish Australians is an attack on every Australian.
Our universities stand in unwavering solidarity with Jewish students, staff, and the broader community.
We will not tolerate antisemitism—it must be stamped out. Our campuses—and our country—must be places of safety, respect and humanity.
