The Group of Eight Universities (Go8) continue to retain their position as the consistently highest ranked Australian Universities.
The QS World University Rankings (QS) for 2015, released today, reconfirm the Go8’s position.
“The Go8 is also exceptionally proud that for the first time an Australian University – Go8 member ANU – has been placed in the QS top 20 in world ranking,” says Go8 Chief Executive Vicki Thomson.
“This is particularly impressive given the changed methodology used by QS for its 2015 rankings,” she said. “This change has had a negative effect on Universities strong in Life Sciences and Medicine in particular – fields of study and research where Go8 members are particularly strong.”
Ms Thomson said that despite this, the fact the Go8 members can continue to be ranked one to eight in Australia indicates clearly the strength – and breadth – of their capacity.
“We are pleased also to continue to be ranked in the world’s top 200 Universities in the vital categories of academic and employer reputation. “Global peers and those employing our quality graduates continuing to rank us so highly indicates clearly how important the Go8’s commitment to excellence is,” she said.
