Australia’s Group of Eight (Go8) universities are amongst the most trusted in the world for producing employable graduates according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Global University Employability Ranking released today, with five Go8 institutions in the top 100.
Vicki Thomson, Chief Executive of the Go8, says that the THE ranking takes into account the views of a large number of global recruitment managers and panels of international managers from around the world and has consistently highly ranked the Go8 institutions and global research-intensive universities more generally.
“Today’s ranking and other similar employability rankings show the trust and confidence that employers have in the Go8 to deliver the most sought-after employees.
“It also underscores the Go8’s long standing record on student retention. This has been highlighted by the release of data by the Australian Government this week in which the Go8’s average retention rate is almost 93%, compared to the national average of 84% whilst our attrition rate was just 6.8% – well below the national average of 15%.
“Combined, these results exemplify the Go8’s end-to-end commitment to deliver a quality educational outcome for our students and an outcome that is highly sought after by employers.”
