Australia’s leading universities are calling for more transparency in how research grants are approved, after it was revealed the Education Minister knocked back 11 projects that had already been ticked off by an independent board.
Simon Birmingham says he’s confident most Australians would believe the money is better directed to other projects but universities want more information about why the projects were knocked back.
