E-waste is a huge problem accumulating around 20 – 40 million tons of toxic waste world-wide per annum. Prof Veena Sahajwalla, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology, UNSW, is revolutionising e-waste recycling and showing how metals, glass and plastics can be reused and in doing so generate a billion dollar industry.
